Macquarium

Added Betta to my newly created Aquarium. I used the acrylic shell of an Apple G4 Cube computer, with a price of matching Lexan plexi cut to fit the bottom opening. I used wood block cut to my desired height to hold peice in place while glueing.
Sealed with Aquarium sealant safe for the fish. Decorated with some rocks, plants and Nemo. Then added my Betta.

G4 Cube Hackingtosh

So as a lifetime windows user I have been reluctant to switch to Mac. I have used them, I repaired a few and I was always intrigued about building one. Now it is a lot easier with Intel based Macs.
I had 2 G4 cube lying around one I decided I was going to make an aquarium and the other I just had parts after tinkering with it.

Since I had time on my hands I decided to look into rebuilding the cube. The site that was instrumental in helping me complete this is tonymacx86.com. The forum there is indispensable and the community is awesome.
This post won't be a guide but a review of what I did. If you are interested I posted log at:

TARDIS HTPC

Being a Doctor Who fan… I always wanted to build a TARDIS. Since I can exactly build a full size one right now, I figured why not a small one. I saw an article with a company who is selling a metal TARDIS PC, I said I can make one of those.
So I thought about how and what I would need to make it happen. Using Masonite, poplar strips and stock I started to build the case. I decided that I would use it as an HTPC so I made a list of what I would need to be able to stream movies effectively from my Home Server.
The TARDIS include AMD E350 APU running Windows 7 on 32GB SSD, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, Infrared for remote control and DVD drive for nostalgia.
Everything is easily upgradable since top and front doors are removable for access to components.

1UP Plant Box

So we are in Home Depot and I decided I wanted to get a plant. Looked at the pots they have an they all seem blah! I decide why not build one. My fiancé thought why not use backsplash tiles to make it interesting.

After getting home I started looking for tiles and came across mosaic tiles. Then boom… why not 8 Bit characters? Of course Mario is my top choice. I decided to go with a 1Up and ? Brick on the other sides. I orders the colors I needed & some Weldbond.

I built the box while I waited for the tiles to arrive. Helps to have a table saw in your garage, if not have them cut it at home depot.

Measured the center of box this is where I will start, helps to keep everything straight.
After gluing tiles I let dry overnight then grouted it. Place wood strips around edges to help until grout sets.

More to come as I complete the other sides.

Fringe Decoder App

I'm a huge Fringe fan. I learned about the meaning behind the glyphs that appear before a commercial break. I had the idea to create an app to decode the glyphs meaning. I don't have any experience coding so I posted the idea on a forum so that maybe Fox or someone else could make it because I thought it should be created.
Recently I came across Android App Inventor. I took a stab at creating my own app after some practice. I searched  to see if anything like it was out there. There is no official app, I found a couple they were ok but I still decided to complete it. I still have a few ideas on improvements that I want to add later, but this is the finished product.

Take it for a spin here... http://goo.gl/vkYv6

" Your Spirit Deserves The Best"

GéCardi … I recently found this valor shirt I got from a friend several years ago. He decided to create a clothing line. Gary Payton, former NBA star was involved in the project. Although it never took off it was an interesting concept, using linen an valor fabrics in the designs.
